Haywire

5901 Winthrop Street, Plano, TX 75024
(972) 781-9473

While technically in Plano, it’s close enough to Frisco to be included, and there’s a good reason for that. Haywire is about as unique as they come when it comes to a culinary experience. The space is actually three separate floors, each offering its own distinct experience. Relax by the fire while sipping on a handcrafted cocktail in the first-floor whiskey lounge. Dig into a Wagyu Tomahawk ribeye with a fine glass of wine in the second-floor dining room. Finally, you can sip on a cold beer or craft cocktail while enjoying the rooftop patio. You could spend a whole evening moving through each floor.

Babe’s Chicken Dinner House

6475 Page Street, Frisco, TX 75034
(214) 387-9500

Babe’s is a chain that’s local to Texas, but don’t let the fact that it has a few locations fool you into thinking it’s not quality. When it comes to chicken, whether it be fried or hickory smoked, there are not many places better than Babe’s.  This is good homely southern cooking. The menu is simple: chicken in one form or another, your choice of six simple but delicious sides, and the types of desserts your grandma would make. Personally, we can never say no to banana pudding. Food doesn’t always have to be fancy to be good; restaurants like Babe’s prove that.

Now it couldn’t be a dining guide to anywhere in Texas if we didn’t include at least one mouthwatering BBQ spot. Well, Hutchins BBQ is that spot, and man, is it good. In fact, it’s so good that it’s been selected as the best BBQ in the entire DFW region! Hutchins’s mission is to serve only the highest quality smoked meats and sides while providing excellent customer service. They do that in spades. Everything on the menu is tasty, but if you’re lucky enough to visit when they have Burnt Ends make sure to get those no matter what. You also have to try their Texas Twinkies, which are jalapenos stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, all wrapped in premium thick-cut bacon.
