Cowtown’s claim to fame is that they are the original Texas hot dog. It’s a no-fuss kind of place where you go up to the counter to order. The dogs are hickory smoked and can be loaded with a number of toppings. The house favorite is the Sloppy Eddie featuring sweet ‘n’ sour pickles and Dublin sweet onions. Frito pies, grilled cheese sandwiches, and more are also available, ensuring you get plenty of food to indulge in.

The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch, so plan accordingly. You’ll find Polish sausage, Weisswurst, Smoked Brats, and more, all served with German potato salad. Have a seat at one of the checkerboard-covered tables and get ready for some greasy grub. Their hot dogs are split open and served on a hamburger bun, providing you with more surface area for your toppings. Don’t miss out on a cold glass of root beer to wash it all down with.
