One piece of trivia to know about Texas is that the Lone Star State is completely devoid of Michelin stars. Michelin doesn’t currently rate restaurants in Texas. With that being said, while Texas may be a Michelin desert, this state certainly isn’t lacking in incredible eateries. Which restaurants would make the cut? Check out this list of eight restaurants that deserve Michelin stars in Dallas, TX!

Carte Blanche

2114 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX
(214) 434-1538

The detail that makes Carte Blanche anything other than bland is that the menu features wild Texas game. In fact, the chefs here are experts at preparing wild game. The elevated menu also features ultra-fresh seafood and farm-direct ingredients. Diners can choose menu options with either six or 14 courses! While Michelin has yet to turn its gaze toward this Dallas eatery, Carte Blanche has already won awards from Forbes and AAA. On a typical evening, diners can expect the foie gras mousse, smoked pork belly, red deer tartare, carrot purée, and beets. The lemon chiffon cake provides the sweetest way to end a meal here!

Say bonjour to the best sweet and savory soufflés this side of the French Riviera when you step into this pastry paradise. Rise Soufflé’s incredible menu of savory soufflés offers a creative way to “do dinner” on a special night out. The smoked salmon and truffle-infused soufflés are especially memorable. There’s also a standard dinner menu with steak, tuna, and salad. If you’re in the mood for something sweeter, simply sink your teeth into a “dessert” soufflé menu featuring raspberry, chocolate, bread pudding, apricot, praline pecan, gâteau de chocolat, classic crème brûlée, and tarte au fruit.

Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille – Park District

2100 Olive Street (Suite 100), Dallas, TX
(469) 470-0622

There’s no question that Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is one of the best steakhouses in Texas! While a Michelin star has eluded this establishment, Perry’s has had no trouble scooping up awards from the Austin Chronicle, About Town, and many more. The filet mignon at Perry’s is legendary at this point. The pork chops, calamari, and lobster bisque are also pretty famous. Diners enjoy a gorgeous two-story setting that offers an expansive dining room with views of Klyde Warren Park, the downtown skyline, and many other Dallas landmarks!

Monarch

1401 Elm Street, Dallas, TX
(214) 945-2222

Monarch is considered the standard for fine dining in Dallas. In addition to offering some of the best cuisine in Dallas, Monarch also provides impeccable views of the city. Monarch’s Michelin connection is that it was actually founded by a Michelin-starred chef named Danny Grant. Monarch’s menu vibe consists of wood-fired, modern Italian fare featuring technique-driven steak, seafood, and handmade pasta. The fire-roasted octopus à la plancha is the starter to start with once you’re seated! Be sure to dress as though Monarch already is a Michelin-rated restaurant when you show up. The strict dress code here requires quests to be outfitted in at least “business casual” attire.
