The Poseidon Restaurant
1670 Coast Blvd, Del Mar, CA 92014
(858) 55-9345
It’s the simple things in life that make the most impact. The Poseidon’s wings are only made with a few ingredients, but they are absolutely delicious. The recipe is simple– boneless chicken wings, a batter of garlic salt and pepper, and their secret sauce. They grill them to perfection, making sure to leave the meat alone till it is grilled to its optimal smoky taste before tossing them in sauce for a nice finish. This amazing restaurant is a hidden gem outside of the city limits in Del Mar, CA that offers a great selection of food for a very reasonable price. The Poseidon has been featured on the Food channel for their chicken wings. Make sure you try their famous Garlic Fries, too! The restaurant is small which results in a bit of a wait, but rest assured it’s well worth it.

Dirty Birds is a small restaurant located in what must be the most famous stretch of highway on the planet – Nobel Drive. The area is filled with restaurants and shops catering to hungry visitors, but Dirty Birds has been known to be the place that never seems to get crowded! Their wings are perfectly grilled and always hot and juicy. All wings come with fries or other side items such as BBQ corn or onion rings. They have plenty of vegetarian options as well. A popular choice is their Greek Salad. You can choose to dine indoors or on the patio, and they also offer a full bar.

Wingstop
1901 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92104

It’s an oldie but a goodie. Wingstop is a go-to chain that’s honestly great because you can get a large amount of delicious fried chicken for a competitive price. They have multiple locations in the San Diego area, but we prefer the El Cajon location for its laid back atmosphere. We recommend the Honey BBQ or Buffalo flavored wings, but Wingstop offers a number of other flavors such as Cajun, Lemon Pepper, and Hawaiian. Be sure to order a side of their french fries, as well!

It’s Just Wings is a fairly new restaurant, but they offer some of the best wings in San Diego! They are known for their chicken wings, which come in many different flavors. They have added some unique menu items such as sandwiches and other items such as french fries, onion rings and fried clams. The food is great, and it’s very reasonable in price. Their service is fast and friendly. We recommend the Original Wings or the Garlic Parmesan Wings. The restaurant is new, so it’s still pretty small, but they will be expanding and adding more items to the menu.

Bonchon
4690 Convoy St Suite 102, San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 836-1287
Korean fried chicken is a “cousin’ to wings that we love for it’s extra crispy taste. Bonchon at Convoy St is the newest location in San Diego of this casual Korean fried chicken chain. They offer big portions of great tasting chicken wings. All of their wings are made with soybean oil and no MSG is used, making them very healthy alternatives to traditional fried chicken items. The Korean fried chicken is served hot and it’s crunchy, but not greasy. They also have spicy dipping sauces that are very tasty. We recommend the hot wings and the garlic parmesan wings. If you want, you can take a trip to get your order to go; but it’s more entertaining to dine in with other people and watch the happy hour specials!
