Bub’s at the Ballpark

715 J St, San Diego, CA 92101
(619) 546-0815

Bub’s is right around the corner from Petco Park. All of the NFL games can be seen here, and there’s always something on when football is out of season, too. The place is pure fun with an indoor basketball hoop and a relaxed vibe across the outdoor patio. Virtually every kind of cocktail is served at the bar, and many have fun names. Mules are definitely a favorite here. The menu is diverse, and we’re a fan of their Jambalaya Skillet with an unforgettable Cajun vibe.

The Blind Burro

639 J St, San Diego, CA 92101

Sports and Mexican food? Sign us up. The Mexican eatery is known for its Baja-style coastal cuisine. Surf & turf tacos are a great option as they combine short rib and lobster on one plate. If you’re watching sports with friends, there are plenty of appetizers and sides to share. Plenty of TVs are tuned to sports all around the bar. If you time it just right, you can also check out their “Amigo Hour” specials.

Pitchers Sports Bar

9920 Carmel Mountain Rd, San Diego, CA 92129
(858) 484-3777

Pitchers is a relaxed sports bar where you can find plenty of flat-screen TVs. We love chilling here to watch a game because of the craft beers that are offered at the bar. Of course, their pub grub is delicious, too. Stadium nachos are big enough to share, and you can find eight different flavors when you choose to order wings. And if your team isn’t winning, you can always wonder away from the TVs and go play a round of darts or billiards.

Taste & Thirst

715 Fourth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101
(619) 955-5995

Taste & Thirst always draws in a crowd because of their nightly specials. It’s a chance to explore some reimagined comfort food while also seeing what cocktails are being mixed up at the bar. It’s a no-cover place that is all about being casual. TVs are everywhere, including behind the bar and throughout the dining room. The menu features everything you could want, though we happen to love the bacon-wrapped dogs as well as the carne asada fries. On Monday’s and Tuesday’s, they don’t open until after lunch, so plan accordingly.

McGregor’s Bar & Grill

10475 San Diego Mission Rd, San Diego, CA 92108
(619) 282-9797

We love how close McGregor’s is to the stadium because if you can’t make it to the game, this is like the next best thing! The place can get packed, and that’s because they’ve got so many TVs showing the various games that are on. The menu is all over the place, providing something for everyone. You can get tacos, sandwiches, and even soups and salads. A brunch is served on Saturday’s and Sunday’s, which we love to jump on as a pre-game warmup.

Home & Away

2222 San Diego Ave, San Diego, CA 92110
(619) 818-0603

Home & Away stood out to us the moment we stepped inside because of the long list of craft beers on draft. Their menu is built upon getting some of the freshest ingredients, allowing for such items as shrimp ceviche and the farmer’s market salad. It’s a casual place, so you can grab a seat and order what you want at the bar. You’ll also find foosball and some arcade games when you want a break from the game. There’s also an incredible patio outside with unparalleled views of San Diego’s mountainside.

Bullpen

8199 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 503-6786

The Bullpen is conveniently located in Kearny Plaza. The spacious bar and grill offers plenty of lounge areas and TVs everywhere you look. The beer menu is extensive, with options in bottles and in cans. Happy hour provides deals on food and drinks. We love their potato skins when watching a game, though their menu is filled with plenty of pub grub, including burgers, patty melts, and more. The outdoor patio offers a relaxing vibe, and there are TVs out there, too.

The Deck at Moonshine Flats

335 Sixth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101
(619) 255-7625

The Deck is unlike anywhere else. The airy atmosphere offers cornhole, artificial turf, and plenty of ways to stay busy when you’re not eating. There are TVs all about so that you can watch your favorite game. BBQ is the name of the game here, and it’s exceptional. Smoked meats include pulled pork, baby back ribs, tri-tip, brisket, and kielbasa. You won’t want to miss out on their specialty drinks, either, as many include moonshine.
