1. Jin Music Studio

4690 Convoy St San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 277-7755

For serious karaoke singers or those who don’t want a big audience, Jin Music Studio opens its private rooms nightly to singers who want to rock out for hours in a real music studio. Pay by the hour and according to how many people are in your group but take advantage of Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese Happy Hour pricing. Be sure to snag some Chicken Yakitori skewers to snack on from Dokdo Sushi served at Jin while you sing the night away.

2. Melody Karaoke & Cafe

4344 Convoy St Ste E San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 292-1689

Some of Melody’s songs and setup information is not in English, but they are more than happy to help you get started with your karaoke experience at this authentic Chinese cafe and karaoke spot. And the gorgeous private karaoke rooms at Melody’s are an enjoyable way to belt out tunes with a group of friends. Food options are plentiful here too, like the snackable Fried Wontons or the meal-sized Beef Rice Bowl you can order before or during your karaoke session.

3. Spot KTV & Restaurant

7327 Clairemont Mesa Blvd San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 268-1588

Authentic Chinese food pairs up with a great karaoke experience at Spot KTV & Restaurant. Order some delicious food like a Fish Ball Spicy Hot Pot or snack on some Fried Squid while you sing along in one of Spot KTV’s private rooms. Play a game of pool or relax at a dining table while you wait for a room to open up at this popular spot.

4. Min Sok Chon

4620 Convoy St Ste D & E San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 560-8168

Well-known for its delicious Korean fare, great happy hour specials and rocking music every night, Min Sok Chon is a fun place to go every day of the week. Drink some liquid courage and get ready to sing your heart out. They have some delicious menu items like the Pork Bulgogi or platter of Fried Wings with the OMG hot sauce. Or get some Steamed Dumplings to share while you wait for a first come, first served Karaoke room to open up. But you won’t mind waiting in the dining area or bar because everyone has fun at Min Sok Chon, whether eating, drinking or singing.

5. Hive Chicken & Karaoke

4428 Convoy St Ste 100 San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 576-0700

This lively restaurant and bar has a lot going for it: great food and cocktails, fun games and a relaxed vibe. People flock to the Hive for its huge whiskey selection and even the private karaoke rooms are named with a nod to top spirits like the Tullamore Room and the Jameson. But reserve your karaoke spot ahead of time because these popular rooms fill up quickly. We love to nosh on the spicy Angry Sauce Chicken or the Pork Katsu while we wait for our room, but playing a game of foosball in the bar area with Hive’s signature Irish Mule in hand comes in a close second.

6. The Lamplighter

817 W Washington St San Diego, CA 92103
(619) 298-3624

A go-to spot in San Diego for their nightly karaoke, The Lamplighter bar is a place that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still guarantees you’ll have a fantastic night there. Guests at Lamplighter can choose from over 25,000 songs to sing between the songs spun by the live DJ that get everyone hopping onto the dance floor all night long. Drinks here are cheap and strong and some favorites are the Adios Amigos and Jessica’s Special Martini at this 21 and up, cash-only bar.

7. Carriage House Cocktails & Karaoke

4690 Convoy St Ste 113 San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 278-2597

This classic bar is a good place to shoot a game of pool, watch the game, eat a great meal and sip on a tasty drink while belting out your favorite karaoke tune. A mainstay in town, the Carriage House serves up surprisingly delicious food like their Carriage Burger and specialty offerings like the Flat Iron grilled steak. We love the relaxed feel they encourage for karaoke that has singers perform for the whole bar instead of in a private room.

8. The Hole in the Wall

2820 Lytton St San Diego, CA 92110
(619) 996-9000

Locals and visitors alike love to come to The Hole, as it is affectionately called, for their Friday night karaoke that is paired up with a fun game of beer pong. But we love the relaxed vibe at The Hole in the Wall, previously named the “19th Hole” because it is just around the corner from a golf course. Karaoke night is usually packed, too, since local singers and songwriters use this stage as a place to try out new music and the enthusiastic and encouraging crowd really comes to hear the talent that inevitably shows up every week.
