Eggs and Bakery

Miami has always been known as a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with a great night life. The beautiful weather, proximity to the ocean and low taxes have long attracted immigrants from all over the world, who add to the city’s charm and diversity. The local optimistic and positive culture is also a factor in drawing people. After Covid hit, this trend only accelerated as out-of-town visitors longing for a chance to dine out came to Miami. Unlike restaurants in other cities such as New York, Miami restaurants have been able to operate at full capacity since last October. If you come to this lively city, here are some of the eateries you must try on your Miami Food Tour.

Versailles Restaurant

3555 Southwest 8th Street, Miami, Florida 33135-4196
(305) 444-0240

Last year 8 out of 10 Miamians visited Versailles. There is a good reason for this. It’s a fixture in Little Havana with classic old-world charm. The food is delicious and affordable, with generous portion sizes. While you can get a burger and fries, you really should try the Cuban specialties. The ropa vieja is delicious. It’s tender, shredded beef, well-seasoned and served with white rice and sweet plantains. Or if you are craving Cuban comfort food, try the arroz con pollo. The croquettes are a local favorite, and, if you have a sweet tooth, the flan makes a wonderful dessert accompanied by a cafecito.

Sanguich de Miami

With its modern take on classic Cuban sandwiches, Sanguich typically has lines out the door. Arrive early if you don’t want to wait. They make everything in house, from scratch. Whether you’re craving a Cubano or a pan con lechon, the generous portion sizes will leave you satisfied. The perfect accompaniment to your sandwich? One of the delicious freshly made milkshakes.

Ghee Indian Kitchen

8965 SW 72nd Pl, Kendall, FL 33156
(305) 968-1850

While you’ll have to travel a bit further to enjoy the wonderful Indian-inspired menu at Ghee, it’s worth the trip. Many of the dishes feature ingredients from the owner’s farm, including the smoked lamb, green millet and the ghost peppers. A $55 tasting menu is a divine way to try a variety of flavors and textures. If you love Indian cuisine, Ghee will not disappoint as it touches traditional dishes with creativity and flair.
