A major city on the Gulf Coast, Tampa has lots of goodies to offer. It is home to some of the most fascinating tourist attraction spots. The sunny weather is loved by many and the absence of income tax makes residing here quite attractive. With its plethora of culinary offerings and access to fresh seafood, the city is quickly establishing itself as one of the leading culinary cities in America.  And the abundance of rooftop restaurants in Tampa is also a huge bonus. Here are our top picks!

1. The Attic Café

500 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Suite 400, Tampa, FL 33602
(813) 226-1003

Arguably one of the best rooftop restaurants in Tampa, the Attic Café offers an exciting blend of craft food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a diverse range of beverages. This coffee shop is ideal for a hearty breakfast or Sunday brunch. Delight your taste buds with vegan pancakes, corn beef hash, and country fried steak. The fajita chicken omelet is another must-have! They combine guacamole, cheddar cheese, peppers, fajita chicken, sour cream, onions and two eggs topped with Picante sauce and served with either rye, white, or wheat toast. Sooo good.

2. EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge

1207 S. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606
(813) 999-8731

Situated on the rooftop of The Epicurean Hotel, EDGE tops the list of the best rooftop restaurants in Tampa. The mood is vibrant and it’s a wonderful place to make new friends under the starry sky. Indulge in some of the best-crafted cocktails you will ever taste – a well-balanced combination of spices, fruits, and herbs. The hot redhead, a variety of lemon, Ketel One and raspberry-ginger compote was our favorite. The Mi Amaro cocktail, a signature blend of liqueurs, Amaros, spices and bitters, also did the trick pretty fast for a quick buzz. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail (spicy Yuzu cocktail and colossal shrimp) for light bites.

3. Luna Lounge

930 S. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606
(813) 773-8626

Situated on the 5th floor of Bulla Gastrobar, the trendy Luna Lounge is one of the best rooftop restaurants in Tampa. This is an excellent spot to take in the lovely sights of downtown Tampa. It’s also a wonderful place to take a loved one for date night. The relaxed atmosphere is the perfect setting for enjoying Spanish delicacies combined with imaginative cocktails. We relished their small servings of Manchego cheese and chorizo as we sipped on a generous serving of sangria. The Lemongrass Collins was also quite tasty. The bartenders are knowledgeable, and service personnel are friendly. Luna Lounge extends a 50% discount on beer, wine, sangria, and cocktails during their happy hour. You can’t beat that deal!

4. M.Bird

1903 Market Street, Tampa, FL 33606
(813) 296-2702

For magnificent sunset views of the waterfront, M.Bird does not disappoint. Perched above the momentous Armature Works, this classy lounge is among the best rooftop restaurants in Tampa. With uniquely crafted cocktails, we got to enjoy the refreshing Out of Towner (a mix of seltzer, lime, Tromba Blanco, cucumber water, and pineapple). Vegetarians and meat-eaters alike wil llove the House Hummus and Baba Ghanoush (tomatoes, roasted spicy carrot hummus, Za’atar pita bread, Mediterranean roasted eggplant dip, cucumber, and Shishito peppers). And for the seafood lovers, the Escabeche hits the spot (wonton chips, sous vide octopus and shrimp, heirloom tomatoes, herbs, cucumber, red onions, and citrus juices).

5. Sal Y Mar

3650 Midtown Drive, Tampa, FL 33607
(813) 692-3330

Sal Y Mar provides breathtaking 360° views of Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Downtown. The restaurant’s décor is sophisticated and inviting with a cool coastal theme. We tried out the Chipotle charred chicken, which was not only filling but tasty too. From the Spanish cuisine menu, we had the pan-seared scallops served with plantain crisp, pico de gallo, and mango puree, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s an ideal place to relax in a hammock chair on a lazy afternoon, sipping on some ice-cold Sal Y Margarita (fresh lime, Tanteo Jalepeño tequila, Tajin rim, and agave), which was our favorite cocktail when we visited.

6. SiX

510 Water St, Tampa, FL 33602

(813) 314-6666

Located in JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, this riverside rooftop bar has amazing mood, food, and views! Overlooking the river toward Harbor Island, this rooftop patio includes lots of outdoor seating with plenty of shade in the afternoon. Besides their great cocktails, there are so many tasty meal selections, with unique flavors and twists. To start, we had grilled stone fruit bruschetta on pieces of sourdough bread along with wine, both of which were great. For dinner, their rack of lamb (medium rare) with mint gremolata and Florida succotash was exceptionally delicious. We’re not one to rave over veggies, but their side plate of broccolini with a romesco sauce was loved with every bite. Overall, SiX is a lovely spot to relax over a drink and enjoy a warm afternoon.
