Ulele
1810 N Highland Ave, Tampa, FL 33602
(813) 999-4952
Ulele serves great food all around, but the grouper sandwich is exceptional. The sandwich is served with lettuce, red onion, tomato and zucchini pickles that have been made in the restaurant. All these are served on a brioche bun that is so dang fresh and tasty. The grouper comes either grilled, fried or blackened. We’ve only sampled it fried, and it was so crispy on the outside and delicately done on the inside. The other meals on the menu are great, especially the Alligator Hush Puppies, and the Fuego sweet corn, which is so buttery and seasoned just right. The house-made beers are a great complement to any meal.

Big Ray’s Fish Camp
6116 Interbay Blvd Tampa, FL 33611

Big Ray’s Fish Camp has been mentioned as one of the eateries with the best grouper sandwich, and those accolades are all true. The grouper sandwich we hav sampled is blackened with herb and parmesan cheese-loaded fries. The grouper is fresh and blackened to perfection because the spices and herbs are subtle and merge very well. They also have Fried Grouper Cheeks, which come with a sweet sauce with a touch of spiciness. The spot is popular, and it tends to be full most of the time. However, the service is fast, and the food comes out fast. You can also get your grouper sandwich fried or grilled if that better suits your mood.
