The Wallingford Neighborhood Dining Guide in Seattle, WA
Seattle’s funky “Center of the Universe,” Wallingford and nearby artsy Fremont, offers visitors plenty of tasty spots to snag a meal, sip on a coffee or even nosh on a late-night treat. Located just north of Lake Washington’s ship canal, the Wallingford neighborhood is bustling with restaurants we love for everything from a quick breakfast to a white-tablecloth dinner. Sisi Kay Thai Eatery & Bar
1612 N 45th St Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 659-4382
The quirky but comfortable Sisi Kay is perfect to pop in for a delicious Thai lunch and its cozy upstairs dining room is a great date night spot. We love the Pad Thai Boren and the surprising Tom Yum Pizza at one of 45th Street’s most popular restaurants.
Dumpling The Noodle
1723 N 45th St Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 403-1724
Every neighborhood needs a go-to dumpling house, and Dumpling the Noodle is Wallingford’s. This small restaurant’s corner location is easy to find, and the relaxed interior complete with Chinese lanterns and snug booths invites you to take a few minutes here to enjoy your bowl of hot, steamy noodles and soft, doughy dumplings. Our favorites here are the Pork Onion Buns, the Scallion Pancake Rolls and the Braised Beef Lamen Soup.
Restaurant Christine
2227 N 56th St Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 420-4781
One of our favorite upscale spots in Wallingford is Restaurant Christine, where you just might see unexpected dishes like Wild Boar BLT or Fried Frog Shanks on the menu. This seasonal, home cooking spot is well-known for its game meats and fresh, creative dishes utilizing the best of the PNW. The rotating menu ensures a unique experience as the seasons change, but Restaurant Christine offers a consistently lovely white tablecloth dining experience all year long.
Mas Cafe
1906 N 34th St Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 420-4623
When you are craving a delicious cup of coffee, a hot breakfast or even a quick, tasty lunch, Mas Café is our top spot to visit. This counter-service spot is perfect for snagging a traditional espresso drink like a macchiato or even a Maple Leaf Latte, and the hot breakfast options like the Chorizo Burritos are always tempting. You can also pick up lunch while you are here, and we love Mas Café’s customizable street tacos, burritos and quesadillas that come with five meat choices plus one veggie option for a delicious and healthy meal.
Manolin
3621 Stone Way N Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 294-3331
Sister spot to the popular Sri Lankan Rupee Bar in Ballard, Manolin is a fantastic seafood restaurant in Wallingford. With an open kitchen surrounded by a sweeping bar, Manolin’s seating here is a fun spot to watch the talented chefs whip up dishes like Rockfish Ceviche, salmon roe Smoked Fish Dip or Mussel Toast. You can also sit outside by Manolin’s firepit and enjoy a craft cocktail while you wait for your Blue Pool Oysters to arrive.
TNT Taqueria
2114 N 45th St Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 322-0124
This unassuming canary yellow taco shop is one of four Chow-owned restaurants in Seattle but be prepared to be blown away by the rich, bright flavors TNT brings to the (take out) table from its tiny, 800 square foot storefront. When we are craving tacos with big, bold flavors, our go-to place in Wallingford is TNT Taqueria. For breakfast, it’s hard to beat TNT’s Carne Asada Breakfast Burritos, and at lunch, a platter of Tacos al Pastor along with a few hot and crunchy churros for dessert always hits the spot.
Ooink
3630 Stone Way N Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 588-2035
This funky little ramen house serves up arguably the best noodles in Seattle, but don’t underestimate the spice levels at Ooink. Even the level one packs some heat, but Ooink’s dishes are so full of flavor that the touch of spice makes their ramen irresistible. Ordering is simple at Ooink using the tabletop QR code, and this modern system helps keep this always-busy spot hopping. Guests here love to order Ooink’s Mala Kotteri Ramen, Shoyu Ramen and Malaysian Fried Chicken, but Ooink does just about every dish on their extensive menu well.
Fiasco
3400 Stone Way N Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 737-8743
When pizza is what we are craving, Fiasco is where we stop in Wallingford. The sunken street-side patio here is a great destination for sharing a bottle of wine and a fancy pie like Fiasco’s blue cheese pizza, Fig’s Got the Blues. Inside, the industrial-meets-cozy vibe at Fiasco is the perfect spot for a drink and appetizer meet-up (we like the Duck Sliders to share) or even a casual dinner among the restaurant’s copious shelves of wine and eclectic mix of seating options.
Almanqal Mediterranean Grill
1712 N 45th St Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 397-4557
When fresh, Mediterranean food is calling our name, we plan to visit Almanqal in Wallingford. This quaint, cozy restaurant serves up really delicious food made by a chef with a passion for regional cuisine. Just about everything here is fantastic, but some of the best dishes to try are Baba Ghanoush, Chicken Shawarma, Mixed Grill and the Gyro Platter.
