Toshi’s Teriyaki

959 6th Street South, Kirkland, WA 98033
(425) 822-8970

The story of Toshi’s Teriyaki began all the way back in 1976 when Toshi Kasahara immigrated to Seattle from a small rural farm town in Japan. His shop was the first teriyaki shop in the city. Back then, the menu only had five items, and a chicken teriyaki plate cost as little as $1.85. Now with locations spanning all over the city and even down into the San Francisco Bay Area, Toshi’s can be credited with starting the Seattle Style Teriyaki method which is what makes the food here so good. When it comes to what you should eat, just keep it simple. Order the chicken teriyaki and you’ll realize that you’ve never had better in your life.

BiBi Mediterranean

Bibi brings the fresh flavors of Persia and the Mediterranean to Kirkland. The menu features authentic Persian and Mediterranean specialties that are prepared with a combination of modern and traditional styles and techniques. Each dish is prepared in-house daily using unique Persian ingredients as well as fresh and locally sourced ingredients from around the PNW. If you want to try something new, we’d recommend the Fesenjoon. It’s a sweet and sour stew that’s made with slow-cooked pomegranate molasses and crushed walnuts served over saffron rice.

Vovina

15 Lake Street #103, Kirkland, WA 98033
(425) 822-2221

With its laid-back vibes and reasonably priced small plates, Vovina is everything you could ask for from a wine and cocktail lounge. Their sharable plates are made fresh every day using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. This sees the menu change based on what is available, ensuring each season brings unique flavors. That being said, the Truffle Tots are a must-order every time. You can get them tossed in parsley and asiago cheese with a lemon garlic aioli or cajun style, where they’re tossed in chilis and served with spicy ranch. Whether you want to relax on their heated patio with its awning and fire tables or their spacious booths and tables inside, you’ll always be treated to a warm and relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding after a long day’s (or week’s) work.

Kathakali

11451 98th Avenue NE, Kirkland, WA 98033
(425) 821-8188

Kathakali isn’t just an Indian restaurant. It’s an Indian restaurant that specializes in the flavors and dishes of “God’s Own Country,” Kerala. Of course, you can find traditional Indian dishes on the menu, but Chef Ajay and his team have created a menu full of authentic flavors, but with an urban twist. The restaurant’s interior is beautifully decorated with Indian art and decor, which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s honestly hard to provide any direction on what to order because Indian food is so unique. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and will help make recommendations based on what you like and the level of spice you’re suited to. If you love authentic Indian food, you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere better than Kathakali.
