Harbor City Restaurant

707 South King Street, Seattle, WA
(206) 621-2228

The classy-meets-casual atmosphere at Harbor City is perfect for those days when you’re not exactly sure what you’re in the mood to eat. It’s good to know before ordering that Harbor City is consistently rated as the top spot for dim sum in Seattle. Our table was enamored by the shrimp dumplings and bean curd rolls. The eclectic menu here offers everything from tofu to spareribs. Overall, we were impressed by the amazing flavors, generous portions, and reasonable prices at this restaurant.

Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar

410 Occidental Avenue, Seattle, WA
(206) 501-4060

Located in Pioneer Square, Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar certainly sets the bar for fresh seafood in Seattle by offering a true oyster “experience.” We enjoyed the shucker’s dozen because it provided a terrific way to try several types of West Coast oysters. We really appreciated that the staff was caring and knowledgeable enough to help us select the right oysters from the menu. In addition to getting an education in oysters, our table enjoyed halibut fish and chips, seafood pasta, and Dungeness crab.

Skalka

77 Spring Street, Seattle, WA
(206) 408-8169

Seattle locals will tell you that you absolutely have to try the “boats” here. Boats at Skalka are made with fresh hot bread that’s topped with cheese, an egg yolk, and other fixings. Let’s just call it the ultimate food when you’re craving a “comfort” breakfast. Pro tip: the best way to eat the bread boats is to break the yolk to allow the flavors to mix. You can then tear off pieces from the side of the bread boat for dipping. So good!

Hood Famous

504 5th Avenue (Suite 107A), Seattle, WA
(206) 485-7049

Hood Famous is a great spot when you want to pop in somewhere for “just a nibble.” The all-day breakfast selections include quiche, coconut chia seed pudding, chicken arroz caldo, and tocino pan del sal sando. This is also a great place to grab cake, cookies, cheesecake, sweet empanadas, and other treats. While Hood Famous has plenty of amazing foods on the menu, it’s the coffee that keeps the doors open. Coffee, espresso, and specialty drinks provide the fuel needed to keep up during a trip to Seattle!

tiramisu from Il Terrazzo Carmine in Seattle

Il Terrazzo Carmine

411 1st Avenue, Seattle, WA
(206) 467-7797

Il Terrazzo Carmine is a fantastic place for a fancy date night! The tender, pillow-like gnocchi was a highlight of the night! Our table also enjoyed flavorful salmon with risotto, peach salad, rigatoni bolognese, and lamb rack. Of course, the restaurant also dazzles guests with an extraordinary wine list. After scanning an all-too-tempting dessert menu full of European classics, we chose the classic tiramisu.

Gantry Public House

904 Occidental Avenue, Seattle, WA
(206) 268-0318

Gantry Public House is a fun spot that all visitors to Seattle should check out. This place gets really busy just before games and concerts. Of course, that can add to the thrill of your visit if you’re in the right mood. Our table enjoyed splitting a giant plate of signature Gantry nachos. The chicken tacos, pepperoni flatbread, and chili cheese fries were also hits. Of course, the menu of bottles and on-tap drinks left us more than merry!

The People’s Burger

922 Occidental Avenue, Seattle, WA
(425) 471-5781

We were so excited to find a great place for burgers in Seattle! The People’s Burger not only serves up a great burger, but also all of the best comfort foods you could want. The tater tots, mac and cheese, and grilled cheese all hit the spot. And the burgers didn’t miss either. The Black ‘n Blu burger featuring bacon, sautéed onions, blue cheese, and arugula was as close to a perfect burger as you can get.

Matsu

501 Stadium Place, Seattle, WA
(206) 257-4259

Did someone say sushi near the stadium? We were so excited to find such an authentic and delicious sushi spot in the middle of so much noise! The neatly crafted rolls at Matsu are quite memorable. Ordering the Matsu Sashimi was a great way to try a classic platter featuring two pieces of tuna, two pieces of yellowtail, and two pieces of salmon sashimi. Our table also decided to splurge on a king crab tower featuring king crab, snow crab, avocado, pico de gallo, tobiko, wasabi aioli, and yuzu citrus ponzu. It’s also easy to put a custom meal together here by sampling noodles, fried favorites, salads, soups, sushi, sashimi, and more.
