Located in the Reading Terminal Market, Dutch Eating Place is an iconic restaurant that, while a bit small with counter seating, has been ranked as having the best breakfast dish (according to The Daily Meal). Their menu is filled with authentic Pennsylvania Dutch food, including apple dumplings, chicken pot pie, and scrapple. The Dutch Eating Place also offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options so there really is something for everyone.

2. Sabrina’s Cafe

In May 2001 Robert and Raquel DeAbreu opened Sabrina’s Cafe. Named after their daughter, Sabrina’s Cafe quickly grew from one location in Philadelphia to two, and now have locations in New Jersey and Wynnewood, PA. They offer an eclectic menu with every changing specials. Sabrina’s Cafe serves breakfast, brunch, as well as dinner.

The Winkle is known for their comfort food menu that features various breakfast and brunch items. This unassuming neighborhood restaurant is the collaboration of Joncarl Lachman and Lee Styer, and brings the best of Pennsylvania Dutch breakfast to the masses. Stockyard Sandwich Co. was created by Will Lindsay and Mike Metzger, both of whom cooked in a wide array of restaurants in the area after graduating from culinary school. Their goal was to bring sustainable food of high quality at an affordable price. They have also teamed up with local farms to bring locally source food options to their menu.

The Stockyard Sandwich Co. offers a build your own breakfast option that allows you to select your bread, protein, and fixings so you can get exactly what you are craving for. One of these protein options is their house made scrapple.

This full service restaurant and bar is inside an old warehouse and has wooden tables, which gives it an industrial vibe. 10. Silk City

Silk City is a one of a kind restaurant that was renovated from an old diner car, which was built in 1952. In 2006, the original management of the diner closed down. At this time, Mark Bee saw the opportunity to re-work the restaurant into what you see today. Besides revamping the diner, Mark also added a 3,000 square foot outdoor bear garden. The Silk City menu offers scrapple as a side, as well as various other food options, including vegan entrees.
