Perhaps it is because it’s much more than a food hall, it’s really a public market glorified with a lot of food. Reading Terminal Market is housed in a National Historic Landmark building. The location once served as a railroad terminal, dating back to 1893. Today, Reading Terminal Market stands as one of the largest and oldest public markets in America! When we enter Reading Terminal Market with friends and family, it doesn’t matter if someone in the group is a meat lover, a vegan, has a craving for Halal dishes or juicy oysters, or wants to try a whoopie pie. Reading Terminal Market has it all for everyone! The Market at Liberty Place is near historic downtown Kennett. This indoor food hall and market is housed in a 10,000 square foot space with plenty of options from quick bites to other delightful food to unwind to. When we come here, we can find everything from sandwiches, burgers, pizza, tacos, burritos, sushi to shakes and wine with a fusion of local ingredients! Try eateries and restaurants like Kaboburritos where Mediterranean and Mexican collide. Get a taste of foods and desserts from around the world at Travelers International Eats & Sweets. There’s also signature cocktails, mixed drinks, and local, award-winning Paradocx wine and beer at Liberty Place Pub.

The Bourse Food Hall

When most of us think of the commodities exchange market food isn’t exactly what comes to mind first, but The Bourse is exactly that! This Philadelphia food hall is housed in the nation’s first commodities exchange market building that was built in 1895 on Independence Mall in Old City. When we walk into this renovated food hall, we’re surrounded by not just the rich history, but an internationally inspired culinary fantasy land with over 20 food and drink vendors. There’s a great mix of cuisines, including Filipino, Indian, Hawaiian, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Korean, to classic American eats. There’s also spirits, soups, sundaes, and chocolates to indulge in at this food hall. Eateries like Baby Buns is where we get to enjoy an international flair to buns. Freebyrd Chicken is where we get to enjoy tasty fried chicken. Mighty Melt is where we get to enjoy artisan sandwiches. The Original Hot Dog Factory is where we find a gourmet touch to hot dogs. Takorean is where we get a try at Korean taco grilled dishes. Need we say more? There’s just so much to taste and experience here!

Chinatown Square

After having come to Chinatown Square, we now know that there’s no need to travel to the other side of the world to enjoy the wonderful cuisines of Asia. Chinatown Square is one of the most contemporary Philadelphia food halls. It opened in 2017 and it is smaller in size compared to some of the other food halls in Philadelphia, but it houses some great eats with an Asian focus, including street food style servings. Coming to this food hall, we get to experience Asian cuisines from China, Cambodia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and a mix of cultures like Mexican Korean. Some eateries at this Asian food hall include Kurry Korner (Southeast Asian), Coreanos (Mexican Korean), Philly Poke (Hawaiian with homegrown inventive flair), and Khmer Grill (Cambodian BBQ). When we come here during the evening, there’s also nice nighttime cocktails and fun entertainment like karaoke to enjoy.

Franklin’s Table Food Hall

It’s like we become a part of University of Pennsylvania’s campus while getting a taste of Philly flavors at Franklin’s Table Food Hall! This 8,000 square foot food hall offers options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or in between meals and we get to enjoy dining under a setting that’s fitting for a campus population. We can pick from grab-and-go options or enjoy a leisure meal under the cafeteria style set-up. Eateries at this food hall cover everything from pizza, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, BBQ, sushi, Greek sandwiches, stir-fry, Mexican dishes, acai bowls to sweets like donuts, frozen yogurt, ice cream, cookies, and brownies. There are a few franchise restaurants located at this food hall, but for the food lovers looking for something different like we always are, there are plenty of local restaurants and eateries offering a local flair to dishes. Some of the highlights at this food hall include O’Chatto Hand Drawn Noodles (Japanese), QDOBA (Mexican), White Dog Cafe (American), New Deck Tavern (Irish), Greek Lady (Greek), and Dizengoff (Israeli)!
