Nashville’s Best Biscuit Spots
There’s nothing quite like biscuits for breakfast, or any time of the day for that matter! Nashville is a major southern city, so you know that they have perfected the art of making biscuits. We love the home of country music for so much more than the live music everywhere. Their food scene is immense, and we’ve got the low-down on the best breakfast spots where biscuits are the star in Nashville.
Nashville Biscuit House
805 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
(615) 228-4504
Nashville Biscuit House is an interesting concept because you can dine in as well as use the drive-in window to get your biscuits quickly. The petite diner is open for breakfast and lunch and is well known for not only its biscuits but also its sausage gravy. The interior is small, and there’s usually a line. Be patient because the food is amazing. Whether you grab the ultimate platter with biscuits and all the fixins or you opt for omelets with a side of biscuits, you’re going to eat well.
Sky Blue Cafe
700 Fatherland St, Nashville, TN 37206
(615) 770-7097
Sky Blue Café is a breakfast and lunch spot with a colorful diner feel. You’ll find a lot of local ingredients as well as fresh-baked goods. They’re closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so be sure you plan accordingly to get into this place. Breakfast is served all day, which means you have a chance to sink your teeth into what is arguably described as the best biscuit on the planet. It’s casual, delicious, and a must-visit on our list.
Biscuit Love
2001 Belcourt Ave, Nashville, TN 37212
(615) 610-3336
You can actually find Biscuit Love in Hillsboro Village as well as The Gulch. While we love both, the one at Hillsboro Village is convenient to where we usually stay. Breakfast is always locally sourced. They had a food truck that was so popular, they launched physical locations. And Nashville is lucky to have such a fine establishment with its bright dining room. Plenty of “with a biscuit” dishes are on the menu, including ones for the little ones at your table. Cocktails, coffees, and teas are served, and we highly recommend the chai latte.
Milk & Honey
214 11th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203
(615) 712-7466
Located in Gulch Crossing, this brunch restaurant knows how to feed its customers well. Milk & Honey features coffee, espresso, and an array of fresh juices. As for the food menu, they have what is known as their “Super Famous Buttermilk Biscuit,” which is served with both strawberry preserves and local honey. And you can have it smothered in country gravy if you’d like, too. If you’re looking for something more filling, enjoy a biscuit sandwich featuring fried chicken or even Alabama pork. The bonus here is that you can eat inside or on the patio.
Maple Street Biscuit Company
2407 8th Ave S Suite 105, Nashville, TN 37204
(615) 678-8359
Maple Street is a fast-growing chain that really knows what they’re doing when it comes to biscuits. You can stop in for breakfast or lunch to experience a number of unique biscuit dishes. Biscuits that “wow” use fun and local ingredients like goat cheese and fried chicken. Meanwhile, if you want a classic biscuit with gravy, that too is on the menu. There’s even a kid’s menu with smaller servings. If you want comfort food that has a modern twist, we can’t say enough good things about this casual place.
The Loveless Cafe
8400 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221
(615) 646-9700
Breakfast is done right at the Loveless Café, though you can also enjoy lunch and dinner here, too. There’s southern charm felt everywhere, from the checkered tablecloths to the bakery case of pies. The biscuits will practically melt in your mouth with buttery goodness, and you will have plenty of fresh jams served next to them. Biscuit sliders are on the menu along with chicken and waffles and everything else you’d expect out of a down-home southern restaurant.
Kitchen Notes
250 Rep. John Lewis Way S, Nashville, TN 37203
(615) 761-3700
Located inside the Omni Nashville Hotel, Kitchen Notes is a hot spot for its southern fare. Open for breakfast and lunch every day, you can find plenty of unique items, including deviled egg toast. The buttermilk biscuits are one of the highlights of the menu. You’ll have the opportunity to relax in the brick-lined space while enjoying an elevated take on southern classics. It’s a good idea to make reservations when you want to dine here.
The Nashville Jam Co.
2806 Columbine Pl, Nashville, TN 37204
(615) 942-6465
It’s hard to enjoy jam without biscuits, right? This homey restaurant is family-friendly with a menu packed with southern comfort. The biscuit can be enjoyed as a meal with ham or sausage, obtained as a basket for the table, or even used as a side alongside shrimp and grits or an omelet. And you better believe they have plenty of jams and jellies to use on those biscuits, too. They’re open through lunch every day, so you’ll want to make a point of stopping in.
