Please and Thank You

800 E Market St, Louisville, KY 40206

(502) 553-0113

Dessert at a coffee shop? What makes their famous chocolate chip cookie so exceptional is that the makers know that less is more; they aren’t afraid to let the chocolate chips be sparse. When your cookie dough is this tasty, the chocolate becomes a nice touch rather than an essential element. The cookie is served perfectly warm, with a crisp bite but a chewy middle, as all elite cookies should be. You’ll be blown away by how well this cookie goes with your coffee or tea. Speaking of, their coffee is great but don’t sleep on the “City’s Best” Black Iced Tea, which is super refreshing and has a tasty mix of fruits and flavors like black tea, mint, and lemon.

Day’s Espresso & Coffee

1420 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40204
(502) 456-1170

Day’s is the kind of place you can come to relax for a few hours. Tables and chairs are scattered about, as are plush leather chairs. Dark, light, and decaf roasts can change by the day. You’ll also find pastries such as scones or muffins. If you’re looking for something a little more filling, they also have paninis and other snacks, which change by the day. They’re open at 6:30 am every day and stay open well into the evening.

Quills Coffee

930 Baxter Ave, Louisville, KY 40204
(502) 861-5947

You’ll find artisanal coffee at Quills Coffee. The rustic vibe is felt from the moment you walk in, with exposed wood and brick throughout. You’ll find plenty of classic drip coffee as well as espresso. Various syrups enhance the flavor, including bourbon caramel. A few signature drinks you may want to try include the Mystic Coffee Soda and the Espresso Sour, which we’ve never seen anywhere else. An array of pastries, both sweet and savory, are the perfect addition to your drink of choice. Enjoy seating inside and outside, with some tables large enough to hold an impromptu meeting. And before you go, you can grab a bag of coffee to brew at home. The best part is that they’re open until 7 PM on the weekends.

Sunergos

231 S 5th St, Louisville, KY 40202
(502) 589-3222

Sunergos is a hip local chain of coffee shops that we have fallen in love with. The 5th Street location is always bustling because of being in the business district. The friendly staff will happily guide you through the various lattes and flavors. Beyond coffee and espresso, you’ll also find tea and hot chocolate. You can grab a pastry or another bite to eat and take it to go or sit at one of the small tables set up just outside the entrance. A chalkboard sits streetside to provide coffee-based inspiration for the day, too.

Safai Coffee

1707 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40205
(502) 384-3555

Safai instantly stood out to us because it has its own brand of organic coffee. The spacious area has plenty of seating with plush chairs, so you can bring your laptop and get a change of scenery. The menu is expansive, offering all the classic espresso and coffee drinks as well as smoothies and frozen drinks. A café menu offers some burritos and bowls in case you get hungry, and you won’t want to miss out on the fact that they serve cocktails, too. Try the Kentucky Coffee with bourbon and Irish cream, only after you’re done with work for the day of course!

Heine Brothers’ Coffee

2309 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206
(502) 894-8060

Heine Brothers has locations scattered all over Louisville, though we love the Clifton location because of the outdoor seating area. That area is dog friendly, too, in case you were wondering. Coffee, espresso, tea, Italian soda, and smoothies are found across the menu, making it easy to take anyone to this place for a relaxed drink. They have some fun flavors, too, and we love the turtle mocha. Various muffins, cinnamon rolls, and even protein bowls are available so you can indulge in more than just caffeine. If you’re on the go, be sure to take advantage of their drive-thru.

Bean Roastery and Cafe

1138 Goss Ave, Louisville, KY 40217

Bean Roastery is a vibrant location with large windows and a spacious dining area. At the counter, you’ll find a chalkboard that shares all of the coffee specials as well as the food options for the day. Coffee, espresso, teas, and smoothies are available in a wide array of flavors. You’ll also have your choice of virtually any milk alternative you can imagine. As for food, you can go small with a bagel or pastry or branch out to something larger such as a sandwich, salad, or the quiche of the day. Grab a table and set up your laptop, or sit by the window and people-watch as you sip a freshly brewed coffee.
