The Essential Tremont Neighborhood Dining Guide (Cleveland, OH)
Rowley Inn
1104 Rowley Ave, Cleveland, OH 44109
(216) 795-5345
When we are craving food with a downhome Cleveland twist, Rowley Inn is the place to go. We love brunch here, especially the Breakfast Poutine, but lunch and dinner are the biggest draws. Some of our favorites are the Black and Blue Mac and Cheese, the mildly spicy Oh Cheesus! Burger and the Rueben Tacos that are offered on Taco Tuesdays.
Fat Cats

The Bourbon Street Barrel Room
(216) 298-4400
Louisiana transplant Johnny Schulze is the creator and chef of Tremont’s popular Cajun restaurant known for its really delicious southern food. Inside Bourbon Street Barrel Room, the spirit of Mardi Gras is alive and well, and you can count on a rowdy good time here for brunch, lunch and dinner. We love Chef Johnny’s Gator Po’boy, the NOLA Shrimp and Grits and the Louisiana Crawfish Etouffee, but everything on the menu is full of the unmistakable big, bold flavors that make Cajun food so tasty.
Lucky’s Cafe
(216) 622-7773
Featured four times on the Food Network, Lucky’s is one of the best breakfast, brunch and lunch spots in Tremont, and that’s a huge compliment in this foodie-haven. Located in an adorable old home, Lucky’s serves up soulful food like their Cheddar Scallion Biscuits, Bruleed Steel Cut Oatmeal and the spectacular BBB Salad, full of beets, bacon and blue cheese.
Leavened
(216) 260-1666
This gorgeous, sleek bakery is our go-to spot for a rich, sweet or savory treat any time of day. Leavened serves up stunning scratch-made goodies like their popular Cruffin, a trendy (but here-to-stay) mix of a croissant and a muffin, flavorful Focaccia bread (with weekly special variations) and even sandwiches and pizzas featuring their scrumptious bread.
Grumpy’s Cafe
(216) 241-5025
We love that we can eat at Grumpy’s from breakfast to late lunch and always have one of our favorites hot and ready in just a few minutes. This classic café in the heart of Tremont has been serving happy diners like us since the 90’s who crave their fresh, homestyle Cleveland menu. The Literary Omelet, with the name an homage to Tremont’s former identity as the home of the short-lived Cleveland University, is our breakfast go-to while the Pulled Pork Boxty and the Meatloaf Melt remind us why Grumpy’s has been a local favorite for decades.
Juneberry Table
(216) 331-0338
Half Moon Bakery
(216) 400-6122
This local shop is not like the other tasty bakeries in Tremont. The flavors of Puerto Rico permeate the sweet and savory dishes Half Moon expertly prepares, and this bakery has become a destination for the authentic flavors they bring to the area. Some of the most popular dishes here are the empanadas like the Handheld Colombiana and the Open-Faced Argentina made with beef, chicken or veggie. And don’t forget to snag a Tres Leches cake for dessert!
Jaja
(216) 998-5353
Upscale dining in Tremont is less common, but locals flock to Jaja for its swanky vibe and top-shelf food and drink. The Latin American influences at Jaja include a stunning 20-foot Argentinian wood-fired grill that cranks out family-style dishes meant to be shared over a relaxed dinner experience. Some of the plates to pick from here include Pork Belly Asado, Smoke Kissed Oysters and the massive Carne and Mariscos Paradilla, enough for four hungry diners.
Dante
(216) 274-1200
This playful but surprisingly romantic Italian restaurant and bar is perfect for date night or even a fun night out with friends. Located in a former bank, one lucky table is situated behind the secure vault door, but Dante has plenty of cozy booth and table seating, moody lighting and a hopping bar for a great night out. Popular dishes at Dante include Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Hand Made Braised Lamb Ravioli and for the adventurous, the 5-course Chef’s Tasting Menu.
