Dog Haus

2464 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614, USA
(773) 935-3647

If you are craving hot dogs, Dog Haus is the place to be. Dog Haus has a very innovative menu which has even won them the year’s Menu Trendsetter Award at the 2020 Menu Masters Awards. Shmancy! Located on Lincoln Avenue, you can get various types of fun dogs including turkey, chicken sandwiches, cheesy hash browns, burgers, and Impossible “meat.” We suggest trying out the Impossible Burger which includes a secret sauce that is mouth watering!

As Dog Haus mainly specializes on hot dogs with cheese, bacon, and other high caloric foods, you may think that you cannot get health-conscious options, however you can also enjoy yourself with healthy plant-based foods such as the Bad Mutha Clucka sandwich. Everything on their menu can be ordered without a bun, and you can also ask for extra veggies. Even keto dieters are well catered to here.

Blue Door Farm Stand

2010 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60614, USA
(773) 935-2583

Blue Door Farm Stand is a lifeline for DePaul students. Previously only a small grab-and-go eatery, it is now a well established restaurant in Lincoln Park. With farm-to-table meals, the menu gives off a Midwestern feel with some popular options including artichoke dip, fried cheese curds, and potato dumplings. If you’re in the mood for something lighter, the restaurants offer fantastic salads such as the Kale and Brussel Sprouts Salad. We also suggest trying out an order of their fries on the side– it’s a crowd favorite!.

As the name suggests, most ingredients used to cook this eatery’s meals are harvested from the restaurant’s own farm. Inside the restaurant, numerous plants and watering cans give the interior a farmhouse feel with a vast skylight that brightens up the space.

Pauline’s

1754 W Balmoral Ave, Chicago, IL 60640, USA
(773)-561-8573

Pauline’s is a short drive away from DePaul and it’s an excellent restaurant with a homey, comfy feel. Many locals regard Pauline’s as a staple breakfast stop, serving your all-American breakfast meals such as French toast, omelettes, and pancakes. We suggest ordering any or a combination of those three as they are the restaurant’s best sellers. Another highlight is their always homemade soups served with croutons and perfect with a sandwich at lunch. With a warm and inviting atmosphere and with great serving portions, we recommend Pauline’s if you’re ever in need of a cozy and filling meal.

When you’re craving chips and guacamole or some homemade horchata, you should try out this local street-style joint. Open until 3am, it’s an excellent place for people who need a late night craving satisfied. Because it is open so late, the restaurant does receive a variety of different crowds of people throughout the night, from people about to head home from the neighboring clubs to students looking for a quick meal before bed or pulling an all-nighter.
