1. The Up Room

For unparalleled 360 degree views of the city, head to the Up Room on the rooftop of the Robey hotel. This location was essential on our Chicago Rooftop Restaurants list! It’s a small, cozy little lounger that’s also a wonderful place to go to impress a date. Take a sip of their craft cocktails, and sit back for a spell to take in the breathtaking views of the city.

2. Bernie’s Chicago

Settle in for a great time on the rooftop bar of this River North spot, a great option if you’re more into a neighborhood joint kind of atmosphere instead of a swanky hotel rooftop. The jumbo oven-baked apple pancake is a delicious dish for brunch, and the short rib is a fantastic dinner option.

3. J. Parker

The views are incredible at this Chicago rooftop bar and restaurant! Sip on cocktails and snack on yummy bites like truffle fries, buffalo cauliflower, and soy ginger chicken wings on the top of Hotel Lincoln. No reservations taken, so get there early! J. Parker is a swanky, sexy place that’s just the place to sit back and relax after spending a day out in Lincoln Park.

4. Tanta

It’s difficult to find a place that does views and food equally well, but at Tanta there is no trade-off. The rooftop patio’s string lights and city view is the perfect place to soak in the vibes of Chicago and nosh on some truly tasty Peruvian treats. Go authentic with their Causa dishes, a traditional Peruvian cold potato entrée, or go for street food flavor with their anticuchos. They’ve got a happy hour from 4-6pm daily that’s perfect for you to try their Latin American offerings.

5. Homestead on the Roof

Homestead on the Roof routinely makes locals’ lists for top Chicago rooftop bars, and for great reason. In the summertime, there’s nothing quite like sitting amongst the magical string lights and the floral garden at Homestead and enjoying some really phenomenal food. Chow down on the Mexican Street Corn and all their tasty tacos–it’s all delicious and even more so when enjoyed in a restaurant with one of the best ambiances in the city.

6. Cindy’s Rooftop

12 S Michigan Ave | Chicago, IL 60603

For elevated views and elevated dining, Cindy’s Rooftop is a favorite on our Chicago Rooftop Restaurants list, and the place to be. Take in the views of Millennium Park and the Chicago skyline. Enjoy their well crafted cocktails and mouthwatering menu including a dry aged NY strip, shrimp aguachile, and bourbon bread pudding. Cindy’s Rooftop is temporarily closed due to COVID-19, but scheduled to reopen next February.

This greenery filled rooftop’s summery cocktails and Mediterranean bites will make any visit feel like a chic getaway. The whipped feta is fantastic and the dishes come out tapas style so they’re perfect for groups who love to share and sample a little bit of everything. This spot is wildly popular, so reservations are recommended.
